Easter Eggs 2014

I put them up last year, and yes I will put them up this year. I’m doing the quests right now, so give me some time to finish them up for myself, then I will gladly lend anyone a hand that needs it. If you’d like, you’re more than welcome to hunt with me.  It seems some places are repeats and others are new. So I’m not quite sure how many changes have been made just yet.  All I ask for is a little patience.  Please and thank you!

Free Backgrounds!

Promise Back in January I said I was going to implement some free backgrounds. Well, that ball is finally rolling. (Ty, Spring break.) I’ll be breaking them down into collections based on areas, and it’s being kicked off with Moorland.

Anyone is welcome to save them to their computer and use them for whatever they like. The only thing I ask is that you share the end result. I love seeing people’s edits.

I’ll be adding more resources to the the edits area. Including a list of more sites and places that deal with editing in more depth. So if this is something that you enjoy and you know of some other resources, please, feel free to share, I’d love to add it to the list of links.

Requests

I do plan on making a collection for each area, but if there’s something you’d like to have please feel free to let me know, I’ll try to get it added as soon as possible!

More will probably be added in time as well. I hope they’re useful. 😀

A Response about Mods

As many of you know, I’m very pro  mod.  (Moderator) I’m only one of many. I sent in yet another letter and I finally got a response back. It wasn’t really what I was expecting or even hoping for. But I’ll share it, because it does give important information about what to do if you need to report another player.

Mine:

Hello there, Please forgive me if this isn’t sectioned under the right subject, what I’m about to ask certainly feels like a game issue. How do you want players to proceed when it comes to reporting player issues? And by that I mean, how do you want us as a player base to report and handle issues like:

— Bullying

— Cursing

— Spam

I’m asking because for global chat, this is a constant. If I could describe the global channel in a word, it would be volatile. It’s always an option to close the chat window or to avoid the channel when things are getting heated. One might think that’s an easy feat to do. For an adult like myself, who only plays around to unwind, yes. But I imagine that for the age group this game is targeted for, it’s not quite that simple to turn the other cheek.

I say all this to suggest a moderating system. From what I understand, messages are moderated now, but there are times when immediate action is needed. Especially for the bullying. Never in a million years did I think I’d be saying this, but there really needs to be consequences for the wrong actions. And I think the player base needs more clarity on what those actions are. I’ve heard rumors that a volunteer system is being tested out, and I’m hoping that this is true.(My fingers are crossed.) But until then, what would you like us players to do when we are in or we witness these situations in the chat room?

The two major things that pop in my head are to avoid the conflict, to use the ignore function, and close the chat window. The other is to take a screen capture and send it in. But what kind of details would the staff need to know? (Other than details of the situation.) I really enjoy this game, and I want to see it grow. Mind you this is just my opinion, but I really do believe that a moderator system would help it do just that.

Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

##My Real Name##

The Response:

Hi (My real name),

The chat is indeed moderated and there are consequences for bullying, which ranges from temporary suspension to permanent ban and removal of the ability to chat.
At the moment, we cannot put moderators on all our servers – we have around 15 servers in several different languages in different countries with different time zones – and it is impossible for us to manage the chat this way. We currently read through the chat logs every day. Our chat systems flags anything that is against the rules or seems to be filter avoidance for us to look at and we can act on it.

If you wish to help and want to report players, just message us to this address with the username and what they did that breaks the rules. You can also send us screenshots of the chat window when you see someone being abusing, flooding the chat with repeated symbols or harassing other players for their accounts. Anything that breaks our Terms of Service can be reported and we will investigate it and deal with the user breaking the rules.

Thank you for your message and your feedback.

Regards,
Catherine, Star Stable support

So what to do should you see bullying, spam or filter blocking.

– Take a screen shot (See link below for tutorial)

– List the user name of the party(ies) involved

– They don’t list this, but give them a time if you can, it may make it easier for them to comb through chat logs.

– Send it to the support team.

(I tend to get faster response with the contact form)

After this my hope for moderators on all servers was definitely deflated.
Not diminished. Just deflated.

Easter Egg Hunt Help!

I’ve been cataloging all of the Easter egg hunts, and I’ve stuck it all in one place for you. There is now an “Easter Egg Hunt” tab in the menu. Or you can just click here: https://moorlandgirls.wordpress.com/easter-egg-hunts/

Yes, I did finish all of them. And yes, I did take pictures of the majority of the egg locations!*  Don’t worry, if you enjoy doing it yourself, the pictures aren’t up front and center, so you can just read the information if you like and avoid the pictures completely.  😀

— Note: I started putting this together late in the evening. It’s now 1:30 in the morning for me. There’s 11 hunts total, and about 43 ish pictures.  If the hunt you want isn’t up yet…check back in a few hours. It will be up soon! I just need to sleep first.

*Landon's eggs are all out in the open.
So it felt redundant to take screen shots of that
particular hunt.
* I had forgotten to take screen shots of all Felix's eggs,
however, there is a post telling you where to look.

More Hair!

Okay, I’ve been slacking a little. Sorry. You guys have to understand, I work for a newspaper and there are nights I’m working until the a.m. to get things out to print. By the end of the day, I don’t want to touch a damn thing. So when it comes to big projects…they may take me just a little be longer than a normal post. Okay! Bring on the hair! Here’s what’s left of the first Fort Pinta salon!  (Second location is nearly done. I’ll post that all at once.)

Cyber bullying is not okay.

I’ll say it again. Cyber bullying is not okay. With all the bells and whistles that the internet has to offer,  it’s easy to become disconnected to society. People seem  to forget that there is a person behind that user name.  It’s not just some machine that’s typing out messages. It’s a human being.

The internet is a viscous place all on it’s own.  It doesn’t need you or anyone else  adding to it’s demeanor.  Please keep in mind, I’m not aiming this at anyone in particular, I just want to remind you that words are powerful. It may not seem like it, but words are the most powerful thing you’ll ever have. They can be uplifting and inspiring…and in the same turn they can be a brutal weapon.  They can do great things, and they can cause a lot of damage…and they’re only made of sound, air and thought.

So before you hit that enter button… think about it.

Everyone is a different stage in life, there’s no telling what that person on the other end might be going through.

If you find yourself being bullied, do not engage. Don’t react. Don’t send any messages. I know it’s a hard thing to do, but you really must turn the other cheek.  If you can, copy the chat messages and send them to you’re online support team.

SSO  is a little harder to navigate when you’re having an issue. There aren’t any online moderators, nor is there a “Report Player”  system in place.  So here is the best way to with bullies or issues that should be reported:

— Don’t reply to the messages

— Create a screen shot of the chat

— Send it to support and give them details of the situation

— Minimize chat or log out.

— If you’re a minor, let your parents know!

You can make a screen shot by using the “Print Screen” key on your keyboard, and pasting it into  your paint program. (Just basic paint will do fine.) If you have fn keys, you may have to press them first or hold them down to use this function.  Save the file as a jpeg or a png.  You can then attach it in an e-mail.

By the way, jumping in the middle of the arguing doesn’t make it stop.  I’ve seen so much of this lately it’s a little dizzying.  Of all things, it makes it worse! If you see behavior that you know is wrong…report it.

You can agree with me or not, but SSO desperately needs a moderation system.  Some players are even boycotting the game in hopes that something will be put in place.  Parents. Players. Readers. I implore you to ask for a moderation system. It may not be a perfect fix. But it would certainly curb the issues and make it safer for all players of the game. There must be consequences for the wrong choices, just as there should be someone for players to turn to when they need help.

Apparently the contact form is not working correctly

What is this craziness?

I log on and the first thing I see…a green horse? No. Wait…that’s not right.

But I did!

Crazy

I found the leakage of the insanity. Within Nimmer’s highland, there is a rabbit that will change your horse into multiple color combinations. I’ll have to go back and take a photo of said bunny, but as you can see it was a tad busy. like beyond so.

You simply click on the rabbit and it will randomly change the color on your horse. To take it off you can click on the rabbit again. Here’s just a few pictures of some of the colors.

Cazy2CrazyRebelCrazy4Crazy3

As you can probably tell there’s quite a few  mane/Tale/Body combinations.  I don’t know how long this lasts, since I’ve just used it myself…but if I’m lucky this will be a feature that stays in game. If so, I will definately be cataloging this for your viewing pleasure.

If it’s not an April Fool’s joke that is.

Update!

It wears off as soon as you log off.
